Some proposals for a Cascadian government would take the form of a constitutional monarchy, where a king/queen would be the sovereign head of state, either as a personal realm, on in the form of an appointed Governor General as viceregent, to be empowered with almost all royal prerogative and reserve powers. Proposals for the Cascadian monarchy can take the form of adopting the British monarchy, and membership in the Commonwealth Realms; adoption of a cadet branch of the British Royal Family as a unique Cascadian monarchy; or choosing a common (non-royal) family for a unique Cascadian monarchy.
British Commonwealth monarch[]
Some proposals for the Cascadian monarchy would be to join the British Commonwealth, and adopt the British (Canadian) Royal Family as the Cascadian Royal Family as well. The monarch would rule via a viceregent, such as a Governor General.
British Cadet line[]
Some proposals for the Cascadian monarchy would be to adopt a cadet branch (secondary line of succession) of the British Royal Family, such as the lines of Prince Harry, Princess Anne, or Prince Andrew. In the absence of a tragic accident in the line of succession to the British throne, the Cascadian monarch would be unique, and would probably reign in Cascadia in person instead of via a viceregent, like a Governor General.
Unique Cascadian monarch[]
